VUBToday: The Backlash against Gender Equality and Women’s Rights in the European Union

The backlash against women’s rights in the European Union was the subject of a public hearing of the European Parliament’s Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) last week in Brussels. The parliament’s committees organize these hearings to have experts and activists inform members of the committee on current issues, often in relation to a tabled resolution addressing these issues. In this case, the FEMM committee invited Katrine Thomasen (Centre for Reproductive Rights), Christian Berger and Lena Jäger (Frauenvolksbegehren) and Virginija Langbakk (European Institute for Gender Equality) to discuss the current state of the backlash.  read more on VUB Today
